- complex link or twined link (fuzajiubian). In China, it was only found in bronze and silver threads, especially in the Liao dynasty, instead of silk threads.
35. 1Loop
One or more sets of silk yarns are interlaced with loops, including: 1. hanging loop (guahuan); 2. cross loop (taohuan), subdivided into single cross loop (danyitaohuan or dantao) and double cross loop (chongtao or chonghuan), which was found at Chu tomb dated from 3rd century BC; and 3. knotted loop (jiehuan).
36. 1Braid
At least, two sets of silk yarns are braided lengthways, including: 1. plain braiding (pingwenxiebian); 2. twill braiding (xiewenxiebian); 3. double braiding (shuangcengxiebian); and 4. twined braiding (jiaozhuanxiebian). The first three types originated from the Neolithic period and became popular in the Warring State Period, and the last was only seen in the Han to Tang dynasties.
